“Brave Girl Rising” Premieres on International Women’s Day

We were honored to team up with Girl Rising, the nonprofit behind the global campaign for girls’ education and empowerment, on their new short film Brave Girl Rising.

Brave Girl Rising was filmed in one of the largest refugee camps in the world and tells how a courageous girl, inspired by the magical dreams of her mother and the sisterhood of her friends, succeeds in getting the education she deserves. The film, which launches a new campaign to inspire global action for refugee girls’ education and empowerment, is voiced by Tessa Thompson and Golden Globe winner David Oyelowo, directed by Oscar-nominated Richard E. Robbins and Martha Adams and written by poet laureate Warsan Shire, a refugee herself.

As part of the post-production team, Bubba’s is proud to have helped take this extraordinary project across the finish line. Our role in this process was to take on the creative for the opening and closing to this incredible story. A heartfelt shout out to our team – Oliver Thompson (editor), Trevor Bulger (post-production coordinator) and Ian Nelson (post-production supervisor). This marks our second collaboration with Girl Rising, whom we hope to continue helping on their journey.

Brave Girl Rising premieres this International Women’s Day on the Girl Rising website.
