BIG MOOD OOH PROMOS
When Vayner Media says BIG MOOD, they mean it. We were tasked with bringing their hilarious promos to life across digital billboards in New York, Los Angeles and Toronto. A standout feature of the campaign was its presence on the iconic "Godzilla" screen in Times Square, which stretches an entire city block. This campaign demanded attention on a global scale, with designs that captivated anyone walking or driving by.
THE ASK
VaynerMedia needed us to take their OOH campaign and translate it into stunning digital billboards across three major cities. The goal was to ensure that their vibrant designs not only fit but thrived on a wide variety of screens, each with its own specifications and requirements. Consistency and impact were key, as the campaign aimed to make a bold statement in each location.
THE CHALLENGE
The project presented several significant challenges. Each digital billboard had different sizes, delivery specs, and technical requirements. The tight turnaround time added pressure to not just design but also to ensure every spec was perfect. From the massive Godzilla screen in Times Square to various screens in Los Angeles and Toronto, each display required a tailored approach to meet its unique demands.
OUR PROCESS
We began by refining the design to work seamlessly across all the different screens. Next, we animated the designs, keeping in mind the scale of some of these massive displays. To ensure precision, we created 3D versions of the screens, allowing us to see how our animations rendered around corners and on curved surfaces. This step was crucial for the Godzilla screen, the largest of its kind in the country.
The final delivery was a substantial suite of assets, each meticulously crafted to meet the unique codecs, frame rates, resolution ratios, and other technical specs of the various digital billboards. We ensured that every design was optimized for its specific screen, resulting in a cohesive and impactful campaign that spanned three major cities.
