Our longtime friends at CALICO came to us with a new series they were producing for NBC called “Niiice Shot”. The series follows NBA Champion Steph Curry and his friends as they learn to replicate key shots from golf history that won entire leagues.
CALICO asked us to conceptualize and build out a unique, golf-inspired sequence motivated by the series. The opening would include a live-action shoot with the cast and combine VFX elements in order to bring the idea of the “perfect shot” to the show. We were also asked to create a brand GFX package comprised of a show title design and various in-show graphics, including a lower-thirds, location-id, flight line, and archival footage toolkit that their in-house team could use across multiple episodes.
We had an absolute blast working on this one with Danny Lee and CALICO, and hope to learn just a bit more about how to improve our game on the green.
